Fix the Zoom “Device already joined” error
The Zoom “Device already joined” error means another device or app is already using your unique webinar link. An AI note-taker such as Otter or Fireflies is a common cause because it may join automatically from your calendar.
One device per registration
A unique Live Event registration link can be used on only one device at a time. Do not share your link.
Try joining again
Open the Zoom link again. In some cases, joining from your current device replaces the earlier connection and disconnects the other device or app.
Turn off AI note-takers
- Check whether Otter, Fireflies or another meeting assistant joined automatically.
- Disconnect the note-taker from the current webinar.
- Turn off its auto-join setting before opening your Zoom link again.
Check connected calendar and Zoom apps
If the error keeps returning, review the apps connected to Zoom and your calendar. Disable automatic joining for note-taking or meeting-assistant tools, then try the link again.
